Ask me about the 12? Jesus chose His disciples.

Memory verse:  "Go throughout the whole world and preach the Gospel to all people."   Mark 16:15

Sunday we took a look at the 12 disciples.  They were ordinary people just like you and me.  He called them, they said yes to the Lord and they followed.  As they did He made them fishers of men.  As we follow Jesus, we will fish for men too!

Funny story....received a text from a mom this week that had a pre k student in our lesson.   Mom had just returned from the grocery store with a dozen eggs..."Mom!   Don't put that in the refrigerator!   Those are God's people!"

We used the egg carton as an example of counting 12  or a dozen and showing the students that Jesus chose 12 disciples.  This sweet little one must have thought that her mom brought home the disciples and not the eggs.  :)

3rd - 5th graders learning about the men that Jesus chose to be His disciples.   Ask them and see if they can name them.   What kinds of jobs did they have?   Were any of them brothers?   What is a zealot?  What was Matthew's job?

Toddlers and Pre K pulled a train on a "track" to show how the train is "following" them as they lead.   Jesus lead his disciples and the followed Him!
