Simeon's Prayer/Praise, Pray, Serve and Baptism







Sunday school today focused on Simeon seeing Jesus with His own eyes.   He said I have seen Jesus and He is my salvation as promised by God.



Our activity reminded us that Jesus is our salvation.   We colored around a cross and took the tape off to reveal the image underneath.

We did an activity to "recognize" what was missing.     Pointing us back to Simeon's story of him knowing that God was sending Jesus.    He waited a very long time.   When Mary brought Jesus to the temple, Simeon recognized that this was the promised Messiah!    How exciting this must have been for him.
















Pastor Steve reminds us that Jesus shines in us!


A special day for Kylie and Addy!   Congratulations on your baptism!







New members were reminded of their own baptisms and anointed with oil.

Pastor Steve made this day so special as he had ordered a bottle of water from the very river Jesus was baptized!   What an emotional moment.

This is Curtis Stacy!    Mr. Curtis is going to be a new friend and main character in our Christmas program!   Can't wait for
 you to meet him.

ANSWER TO PRAYER!    ASHLEIGH was discharged from the hospital November 1!    Praise be to GOD!   Continue to pray for this amazing light for Him! Crenshaw Kids and families please keep our Ashleigh in your prayers.  Ashleigh was admitted into Children's Hospital at Richmond,  VCU on October 17.  Ashleigh joined us a few months ago in Sunday School and she needs our voices.   Ashleigh is in the 6th grade at Kenston and loves music and drama, cheering and just enjoys life with friends all the time! From Mom yesterday: Update on Ashleigh she is still dealing with pressure on her brain which is still causing a lot of things going on with her body. She is still having issues with talking and seems to be favoring her right side more than left side. She has had some occupational therapy and physical therapy should be in here today. The neurologist said that they will keep her on the medication for the pressure a couple of more days and may possibly have to do another mri at the end of the week to see how things are doing. We are seeing very small improvements and are taking things day to day right now. She hasn’t had anymore fever

Last week...Fishers of Men! This coming week...Jesus Heals and Forgives!

                                          Jesus wants you and me to fish for people, too. That means that Jesus wants us to tell others about what He has done for us and what He wants to do for them. Fishing for people is a lot like fishing for fish. First, we need to be properly equipped . We need to know what the Bible teaches and learn how to share it with others. Next, we go out where the people are and tell them about Jesus. Finally, we must be patient .  If we do these things, we can really become fishers of people like Jesus wants us to be. If you think there is a great feeling of excitement in catching a fish, just imagine how exciting it must be to bring someone to Jesus! I look forward to seeing you on Sunday! We will be meeting in the sanctuary! We sing in worship this week so we will rehearse and also hear about the friends who took their friend to Jesus. They took their friend through the ROOF! You hear me correctly! Can't wait to tell you all about it!
