This week in Sunday School Crenshaw Kids started Tinley's Treehouse Season 2!    Last summer we experienced season 1 and I was so excited that Rightnow Media offered another season!   Here is the trailor for the new season!

In Christ, we are a new creation.

In the episode, Max discovered something odd about butterfies: They eat more than nectar from flowers.  

Max and Tinley visited a butterfly house where Vanessa taught them about the life cycle of a butterfly.   She called the change from caterpillar to butterfly a metamorphosis.   Most animals don't transform as completely as butterflies do, but they do change as they grow. 

Vanessa explained that a butterfly uses its proboscis to eat.  Like us, butterflies need food for nourishment.   But food isn't the only thing that nourishes us.  When we read the Bible and talk to God through prayer, we are nourishing our relationship with God.  

Tinley thought Max's question-"Do butterflies eat fish? was silly, but Vanessa said it was a great question.   We might think our questions about God are silly, but they aren't.   

Tinley wanted to do an episode about butterflies because the way they change from caterpillars to butterflies reminded her of Max's transformation as a Christian.   When he became a Christian, he left the old self behind and became a new person.   He was still Max on the outside but, inside, his heart had changed.   Max explained that someone who is "in Christ" trusts and follows Jesus, we are "in Christ" too.
