Picked up a good book lately?

Hi Crenshaw Kids! Have you noticed in the summertime when you are at the pool or the beach lots of adults are sitting, relaxing and reading?   At this very moment, as I am writing these words to you I am sitting on the beach beside my daughter Savannah and she is reading a book!   I hear her giggle from time to time or say something like “wow” or “oh no”.    I can imagine that she is reading something exciting. 😁 This week May’s mom sent me this picture of her reading the Bible Crenshaw gave her on Easter.   She is sitting and relaxing and reading.  The Bible is full of amazing stories and adventures of people who lived long ago.   This picture of May challenges me to sit and relax and read! When I packed my bag for the beach this week, I packed a few magazines.   I have food ones and home decorating ones and a beach cottage one.  These magazines are the same ones I put in from last year!   Ha ha. I can read them over and over and still find something I overlooked before.  Zoom in to

Happy Wednesday! One tiny seed...Matthew 13

Have you ever seen a mustard seed?  A mustard seed is so small that if you were holding one in your hand and dropped it on the ground, you might not be able to find it.  Even though the mustard seed is one of the smallest of all seeds, when it is planted in the ground, it grows into a plant so large that birds can perch on its branches and can even build their nests in it.  I have read that these tiny seeds can produce a plant that grows ten feet high or more!  It is hard to understand how something that starts so small can grow into something that big!  This past Sunday we read the "parable" of the mustard seed.   We learned that parables are stories Jesus told that had a hidden meaning.    Jesus compared the mustard seed to the kingdom of God.  Jesus said, "How can I describe the Kingdom of God?    It is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of all garden plants; it grows long branches, and birds can make

There is no place anywhere that you cannot talk to God! Take a look at this encouragement from our lesson on Paul and Silas

I hope you are all staying cool on these super hot summer days!!   I try to stay close to the water whenever I can! Sunday, July 10 was a fun Sunday school time of learning and crafts.     Crenshaw Kids love the new space and we look forward to having the rooms full soon! Here is a snapshot of our story from Sunday... Have you ever been in so much trouble that you thought there was no way God could help you or hear your prayers? Then you should meet Paul and his friend Silas. When Paul and Silas commanded an evil spirit to come out of a slave girl, her owners were furious and dragged them to court.  Paul and Silas were beaten and then thrown in jail. Imagine everyone’s surprise when they heard the two men singing praises and praying to God! Paul and Silas knew that even in the most difficult times, they needed to go to God in prayer. In fact, their response of song and prayer led the jailer and his whole family to believe in Jesus Christ!  Paul and Silas knew that they could pray to G

Happy 4th Week from these cuties! Can't wait to have everyone back together again!   Hope that everyone had a wonderful week celebrating the birthday of the USA! 245 years old!   Seems old, but so young.   :) Miss Alice celebrated with Miss Savannah and her mom and dad!   It was a fun time of fellowship with music, a parade, good food and fireworks!  Can't wait to hear all about your celebrations! Our lesson on July 3rd was a story about a group of people called the Israelites.  These people were not free.   They were being ruled by a man named Pharaoh.   We have talked about him before.   This story is in the book of Exodus.   Do you remember where this book is in the bible?   Old or New Testament?    It is right after Genesis.   So?   Old or New OLD!   :) In the story: God saves His people and makes them free. God wants us to have a soft heart and obey him, not a hard heart like Pharaoh. Pharaoh thought he was the most powerful, but he learned God is the most powerful. The st
