Crenshaw Kids!

 

 Crenshaw kids read the bible, pray, have fun and work on bible learning through craft activities! Look at these sweet children of God! .                .                Miss Gail played a fun game of "Riverbank" with our older group!    It was a fun game and reminded us of Jesus and John by the river bank as John baptized Jesus. In our 2nd and 3rd grade group we used water colors to paint our river and the water baptizing Jesus. Oh no!?    Bentley found some "snow"!    He decided it would be a good idea to have a snowball fight!   I did not think that was a fun activity!   HA HA.  Thanks to Indi, we got it cleaned up quickly! The snow did not distract our littlest angels from their work! Thank you Miss Gene for teaching us about John and Jesus! This week in Sunday School we met John the Baptist. John came to prepare the way for Jesus. (Mark 1:3) John knew it was about God and not Him. (John 3:30) John taught that everyone should repent (Matthew 3:2)  We talked about what "preparing" something is like.  John had a very important job to do. His job was to prepare and make ready the way for Christ.  We asked the children if they know what “prepare” means.  Imagine a box of brownies. What needs to be done to “prepare” them brownies before they can be baked and enjoyed? We can't just rip open the bag and start eating the powdery chocolate mix??!! No, we need to add eggs and oil and water and stir.   The brownies will only be ready at the proper time when all the ingredients are assembled. Just like the ingredients, God selected a time and people to make ready the way for His Son. H ow did John prepared the way for Christ. He preached sermons and told people that Jesus was coming.   Christmas and the Sunday lessons leading to December 25 was an amazing time of anticipation and excitement!     Many of us came back to church in 2024 with the question:   "Now what Miss Alice".   HA HA Well, I decided for myself that I wanted to see what happened next.   We don't talk much about Jesus when he was a boy.   But, he was 2 years old, then 3 and then on to 6, 7 and 8 etc.    The bible has little mention of those years,..but I am certain he was just like any of you.   He was exploring the simple things in life.   Playing and just being a kid. We begin 2024 with a lesson about Jesus at age 12.    He and his mom and dad were going to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover.   They were in a big group traveling together with family and friends.   As any twelve year old boy, he bounced from person to person enjoying the trip and mom and dad figured he was around people who loved and watched out for him so they were just traveling without a worry.
