A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls. Self-control means you can control yourself. That sounds pretty simple! It means that you don’t allow your emotions or desires to cause you to act in a way that you shouldn’t. But sometimes it’s hard to have self-control. We can’t control our actions without God’s help. Use your imagination....close your eyes and think of putting on a jacket. Now, if I ask you which one of these items would make you take off the jacket fast, which would it be?   A heater or a fan? Now, just pretend you turn on the fan and pull the jacket tight around yourself. It seems like the powerful wind would be the best way to get me to take off a jacket, but it only makes me pull it tighter! In the same way, when we try to force someone to do something by being harsh with them, they don’t want to do it. Now pretend to turn on the heater.  As you think of standing in front of it, you’re getting hot and sweaty.  Take off the jacket. Wow, that heater didn’t seem very powerful, but it got me to take off my jacket!  In the same way, being gentle with people is the best way to get them to listen to you and see Christ in you!  In Crenshaw Kids SS this week we talked about being "gentle" with our words and actions.   We practiced being gentle with a balloon and also by string
