Focus! What's next? Jeremiah 29:11

  We may not know what is next.   But, God does! 2022 is coming to an end and 2023 here we go!   Happy New Year!  Do any of you have a New Year’s resolution?   A resolution is something you try to do different than you did before.   This is a little harder that this sounds.    We say we will do something, but then we forget or we get too BUSY!   For me, exercise has been a resolution.   I will start out so strong and then....I get busy and.....tired.   Here is a picture of one of the pages in my calendar from last year.... as you see on almost each day something was written. Here is a picture from a page in my 2023 calendar......not one mark on this one "yet".  :) It looks like a lot of stuff was planned last year.  Some plans are good but only for a short time, like a plan to eat less junk food.   Every time I say "NO junk food",  I am tempted by a potato chip!  Some plans are really important, like a plan that we set to be closer with God.   Thanks Miss Sue for our Candy Cane Tree!!!    If you did not hear the candy cane story....make sure to see Miss Alice or Miss Sue Sunday so that we can share this story of God's love!  AND...you get to pick a candy cane off the tree! The greatest gift of all!   Baby Jesus.    Monkey and Cody have new hats!    Don't they look festive for the winter cold!!! Sunday school fun! Week #1 of our "Jesus is Coming" month was enjoyed by all!    Our scripture is from Luke 2:10-11!   The children will hide its words in their hearts.    Thank you, Miss Shirley for helping Wes with his leading of the scripture! As you scroll through the pictures, tell your parents about our lesson.   An angel appeared to Mary and gave her the news that she would be a mom to the Savior of the world.   The angel told her not to be afraid. Sunday school time we worked on our classwork and during children's church we made a beautiful ornament.  The ornament is beautiful like Mary.   Every time we look at this ornament hanging on our tree...let it be a reminder of Mary and the angel and not to be afraid.   God is with us. Thank you to Sarah and Travis Andrews for leading our 6th-12th grade group!   Here is a peek inside their classroom.
