Focus! What's next? Jeremiah 29:11

 


We may not know what is next.   But, God does!

2022 is coming to an end and 2023 here we go!   Happy New Year! 

Do any of you have a New Year’s resolution?   A resolution is something you try to do different than you did before.   This is a little harder that this sounds.    We say we will do something, but then we forget or we get too BUSY!   For me, exercise has been a resolution.   I will start out so strong and then....I get busy and.....tired.  

Here is a picture of one of the pages in my calendar from last year.... as you see on almost each day something was written.

It looks like a lot of stuff was planned last year.  Some plans are good but only for a short time, like a plan to eat less junk food.   Every time I say "NO junk food",  I am tempted by a potato chip!  Some plans are really important, like a plan that we set to be closer with God. Who can tell me some things you would like to do better this year to be closer to God?  How about.... Read your Bible?  Pray?  How about memorizing one verse every month?  Our verse of the month?    You can do that!  That’s only 12 verses in a year.   The Bible tells us to hide God’s words in our hearts so that we don’t sin against Him.  Who thinks that is important?  I sure do!

Look at the picture of the new year’s calendar again.   It’s empty!   I think it is important to plan, but not get too busy that I can't keep my promise to God.      God has plans for us too!   We don't want to miss those by being too busy!  

 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD.”    God wants to make our relationship with Him better, and he gives us hope in life and a when we trust in Jesus a future in Heaven with Him.

I am so glad God has plans for my future. And he has plans for each one of you. 

Can't wait to see ya in 2023.   I will not be at church on Sunday, but I have a great celebration planned for you and you will feel like a king for a day!!    AND....our lesson is the story of the three wisemen that came to see Jesus!

Crenshaw Kids and families please keep our Ashleigh in your prayers.  Ashleigh was admitted into Children's Hospital at Richmond,  VCU on October 17.  Ashleigh joined us a few months ago in Sunday School and she needs our voices.   Ashleigh is in the 6th grade at Kenston and loves music and drama, cheering and just enjoys life with friends all the time! From Mom yesterday: Update on Ashleigh she is still dealing with pressure on her brain which is still causing a lot of things going on with her body. She is still having issues with talking and seems to be favoring her right side more than left side. She has had some occupational therapy and physical therapy should be in here today. The neurologist said that they will keep her on the medication for the pressure a couple of more days and may possibly have to do another mri at the end of the week to see how things are doing. We are seeing very small improvements and are taking things day to day right now. She hasn’t had anymore fever

“Snowbody” loves YOU like JESUS party! Isaiah 1:18. 100 plus Kids, teens and adults enjoyed June 14th fun!

Just like God can make a beautiful snowflake out of a speck of dust, He can make something beautiful out of us too when we go to Him for forgiveness and ask Him to cover our sins white as snow! “Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”   Isaiah 1:18 Is that automatic?  No…we have to choose and be willing to take a bath or shower to get clean, don’t we?  It doesn’t just happen like an automatic human car wash! 1 John 1:9 says  “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” This means we have to ask; we have to admit we are wrong and we need God to make us right and clean.  When we do, He promises to forgive us and purify or cleanse us. When the snow falls, it covers things; it covers the ground, the leaves on the trees, our roofs and our cars.  Then everything looks white! Well, God

Pool Party Celebration!

 Crenshaw Kids "End of Summer Celebration"!   Pool party at the NRCC!     A great time of fellowship, prayer for a new year, swimming and....ice cream! A practice in PATIENCE in line for our ice cream treat!    Parent volunteers had it under control! Oh boy what a fun time in the pool!!! Yikes....is Bentley really getting thrown into the pool!??   YES HE IS...a smile on his face saying "again, again!".   Thank you to our life guard Jacob for being patient with all those who wanted to be tossed into the pool! Swimming is exhausting mom! Look at these amazing stunts!    10 out of 10! My absolute new favorite photo bomb by Charlie!    Couldn't have planned this if we tried.   What a great shot!   HA HA
