Dirty feet? John 13:14 Jesus shows us to serve others. Are you willing to serve?

Opening worship each Sunday begins with prayer, pledges, offering and praise and singing! Today our lesson is all about "feet". So....we went shoeless! I had some requests to do this every Sunday!

Sunday school for our toddlers included practicing washing feet and serving with our class baby doll. It was a precious sight to see these amazing children being so serious as they carefully washed scrubbed and dried the baby.

In our Kindergarten class Clay announced that his feet were very clean. He had double baths yesterday. :). But, he had pizza for dinner, so maybe they smell like pizza. Thank you Gene for being so so dedicated that when he asked you to smell his feet you smiled and took a sniff! HA HA

Older students had toe grip fun and more as they got their feet into action!

The littles wanted to try the toe grip too! Way to go Viv!!

During Children's church we discussed a "home worship center". During the Easter season we will have a designated area at home that we will place items from each Sunday from now until Easter Sunday. These items will remind us about what we are learning. The first item for our center is a large rock and five small ones. We will arrange them in the shape of a foot to remind us of Jesus serving others by washing feet.

We asked the kids to imagine the dirtiest, crustiest feet they can think of. What kinds of things might make feet that dirty? Sometimes walking with open shoes/sandals can make your feet dirty. How bad do you think it would be if you were walking with sandals but not on a paved sidewalk but on a dirty and dusty road for a long time? That would be bad, but it would be even worse if you were sharing that road with donkeys and other animals and you accidentally stepped on a piece of animal poop! HA HA

We reminded the kids that it was somebody’s job to wash feet like that. Would that be great job to do or a job that people would want to do?

Let's get dirty! Not animal poop dirty, but painted feet will work! Now, walk the road to be cleaned.

It is humbling to be served. It is a gift to serve. The kids enjoyed getting their feet washed. We reminded each one that we loved them and we want them to serve others.
