Love my enemies? Are you kidding me? Matthew 5:43-45

The Bible teaches us that we are to love everyone, even our enemies.  The natural response is to respond to anger with anger.  This weeks lesson teaches us that we should do the opposite and love our enemies instead of hate them.

Remember blessing of the backpack Sunday?
Marshmallows instead of pickles??

Today we learn about a lesson that Jesus taught us that is very hard to learn.  Jesus wants us to love everyone, even the people who are mean to us.  We have to do the opposite of what others expect us to do.

Read the situations below and I want you to decide what you should do according to Jesus. Parents may wanna use these to have a dinner time chat time and see what your kids say.

  1. Someone yells at you. Answer: Speak kindly to them anyway.

  2. Someone hits you. Answer: Don’t hit back, just walk away and get a teacher to help you.

  3. Someone takes something that is yours. Answer: Give when whatever they need. Don’t steal something from them.

Our activity time this week....each student decorated a coffee filter. It was beautiful. Then, they used a drop of water to watch the colors spread and make it more beautiful. Do you see how the colors are spreading out on the coffee filter?  That’s what love is like.  We need to spread it around to everyone, especially our enemies.

These precious little ones decorated a heart with stickers.   They were reminded to love their enemies even when they aren't kind to us.

Look at this little chef in training?   Order up!

Lastly, thank you all for praying for my daddy this week!    He is getting better after his surgery every single day!    My dad loves to garden, play golf, cook and more.   He is very active but his back has been making these fun things hard to enjoy.    His doctor told him that he could help him feel better and so he decided to have surgery to fix that hurt!

Miss Alice misses you and looks forward to be back on October 13 for our "Fruit of the Spirit" party!    Until then, I am needed here with my mom and dad helping get him back on his feet again!

Here is a picture or two!

Earlier this summer......active active go go go!

Next, my trip to Florida to help out!    The plane ride view was beautiful!  I was sitting right by the wing!

And the onboard snack???    So yummy that I had to buy some of these fancy cookies when I got here!   HA HA.  In England I hear that these cookies and a cup of tea is a great afternoon snack!   I agree!

Here is a picture of my mom and dad waving from the hospital window when I arrived.   I think they were happy to see me!

The view from the hospital window was pretty!   Look at those palm trees!    If you are going to be in the hospital a view like this helps put a smile on your face.

Lots of resting for a few days.
My mom is a retired nurse so she was very attentive.

After a day or so of rest it is time to get up and shave those whiskers off his face!    No mirror?   No problem...I just used my phone on camera mode!   HA HA

On Saturday, September 30 we got the clear to come home.    Now I am chef, carpenter, exercise sergeant etc!    I will have him up and back to himself in no time!

I miss you all and see ya soon!

This is the view from his chair inside his house.    A great place to feel better!
So nice!   God is good!

My new bird friends!    They came so close!
